4 Kids Staff

Staffing at 4 Kids facilities exceeds state requirements in both education and number.

For example, at the 4 Kids centers, each classroom is staffed by a teacher (a college graduate with at least a bachelor's degree in early education or elementary education, or in a related field with a child development associate [CDA]), an assistant teacher (who has either an Associates degree in early childhood or a CDA), and an aide (who has a high school diploma and extensive experience with young children).

There is at least one staff member for every two infants, for every four toddlers, and for every four to six preschoolers. Those numbers go far beyond state licensing requirements, and conform with "best practices" models of the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

All 4 Kids caregivers, including those providing home-based care, receive training in areas including child development and special skills like CPR.

Staff development is an ongoing process. Formal on-site seminars and informal in-service learning help staff members stay knowledgeable about, for example, new research in child development, and important children's health issues.
